Safety routines
Windows and open doors
Every lesson room has a window in its door, or the door stays open.
Parents may sit in
A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson, and each location has a place to wait.
Who may collect a student
We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know.
When a student is ill
A student with a fever stays home. Tell us by text or a call, and we offer the time to the waitlist.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A student with a fever or a stomach illness stays home until they are well. Tell your teacher by text, or call the front desk, and we will offer the lesson time to the waitlist.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for school holidays, and when ice or high wind makes the roads unsafe. A text and a post on our social pages go out that morning.
Drop-off and pickup
Please bring your student to the lesson room door and meet them there afterward. We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your pickup list, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know.
Watching class and recitals
A parent is welcome to sit in on a lesson, especially in the first weeks. Recitals are open to families and friends, and we ask everyone to stay seated during a piece and silence their phones.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice before a student's last lesson, in writing or by email, so we can offer the time to the waitlist. A term in progress is settled with the front desk.
What to wear and bring
Wear what is comfortable for playing. On recital days many students dress up a little, and it is their choice.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or a bag during lessons, unless a teacher asks a student to record an example to practice with.
Questions about how we work?
Ask at the front desk or at your placement visit. We would rather you ask.
