Questions we hear most

What age can my child start?

Most children start between five and seven, once they can sit for a short lesson. Rhythm classes are for ages five to eight, and teens and adults are welcome on every instrument.

How are teachers matched?

At the placement visit a teacher listens, we talk about what you want from lessons, and we match you with a teacher and a weekly time.

What is a placement visit?

A short visit to either location. A teacher listens to you play or sing, or to what you would like to try. Nobody is tested.

Which location should we choose?

Whichever is closer. Some teachers teach at both, so you can switch when the schedule allows.

Can we talk with a teacher in Spanish?

Yes. Alfonsina, Lola and Ximena speak Spanish with students and families, and the front desk answers in Spanish or English.

Do we need to buy an instrument first?

Not always. The school rents instruments by the term, and your teacher can tell you what to look for if you buy.

Is a recital required?

No. Playing in a recital is the student's choice, and families and friends are always welcome to listen.

What if we miss a lesson?

A lesson you cancel with a day's notice is made up with your teacher.

Still have a question?

Call the front desk during lesson hours or send a message. We answer within a day.
